A hot tub is an insulated shell of heated, filtered, sanitized water, with pumps that push water through jets for massage. The pieces worth knowing:

How many people, how often? 2–3 seats suit couples and small spaces, 4–5 fit most families, 6–8 are for entertaining. Is your site ready? A quick check

• Power — entry Plug-N-Play models run on a standard 110V outlet (easiest install, gentler performance); full-size models need a dedicated 240V GFCI circuit and an electrician.
• Foundation — a level, load-rated pad (concrete, reinforced deck, or pavers). A filled spa is very heavy.
