Infrared is gentler heat and the easiest way into a daily sauna habit. It warms your body directly at a lower air temperature, so it feels milder, heats up fast, and is comfortable to sit in longer. Tylö’s Kiruna uses CarbonFlex® panels, and the compact cabin fits an ordinary room.
What Makes an Infrared Sauna Different
Instead of heating the whole room to a high temperature, infrared warms your body directly, so the air stays cooler and the session feels gentle. That makes it easy to sit in longer, easy to start (it heats up fast, and the smaller cabins often run on a standard household outlet), and easy to fold into a daily routine.
Tylö’s Kiruna uses CarbonFlex® infrared panels. Tylö markets them as low-EMR. If a daily, low-effort sauna habit is what you are after, this is usually the easiest way in.

How is infrared different from a traditional sauna?
Traditional heat warms the air with hot stones and steam and runs high, around 180 to 200 degrees. Infrared warms your body directly at a lower air temperature, roughly 120 to 140 degrees. It feels milder, starts faster, and is easy to sit in longer. Neither is better; they are different experiences.
Do I need an electrician for an infrared sauna?
Often not. The smaller Kiruna cabins are usually a standard 120V plug-in, so no electrician is needed. Larger cabins and heaters can need a dedicated circuit. We confirm exactly what a given model needs before you buy.
Is infrared safe? What about EMF?
Tylö markets its CarbonFlex® panels as low-EMR. We will tell you what the brand states and we will not invent numbers. If you want independent published EMF figures, some infrared-only specialist brands publish those, and we will say so honestly.
